DailyM 16: Yoga is Healing

Emmy Cleaves studied all disciplines of yoga in India and came back as a real advocate for Bikram yoga. She gave lectures on pain management in teacher trainings, here are some quotes I would like to share:

“Sciatica pain is a nerve pain and it needs icing and you must keep stretching it. Leaving yoga to make it go away is not the right thing but you have to sustain some misery with it.”

“The longest to heal are the knees because they have no blood supply.”

“Scar tissue also receives no blood supply, it pulls on healthy tissue therefore making yoga a necessity. Yoga will make that scar tissue disappear but it’s a slow process.”
