Growing up as a teenager, I had an eating disorder, anorexia, and I lost my period for a few years. Got healthier, thankfully.
When I lost my mother at 33, I lost my period again for 5 or 6 years.
Susan, a registered nurse for 50 years, said I was a prime candidate for osteoporosis, loosing your period, not having estrogen can deplete your bones. Estrogen is necessary for good bone density.
I immidiatly went for a bone density test. Susan was in shock when she saw the results. Never in her 50 years of being a nurse has she seen something like this, my bone density was as good as a teenager.
